Egypt and Huawei improve cooperation on smart grids, clean energy, and AI to transform Egypt's power sector and attract investments. Dr. Mahmoud Esmat, Egypt's Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy, met with leaders in the Chinese energy technology sector to strengthen partnership with Huawei's Global Digital Energy and Renewables Division.
With the goal to attract new investments while establishing Egypt as an international hub for renewable energy technologies, Huawei is considering relocating some of its support facilities there. Esmat highlighted Egypt's commitment to support Huawei's development with improved services, updated regulations, and strategic partnerships.
In order to support Egypt's digital and clean energy goals during the Conference on Clean Energy Solutions, Renewable Energies, and the Energy Transitions in Shanghai. Vice President for Energy David Sun and Chairman Guo Jiangong welcomed Esmat on a visit of Huawei's modern facilities.
Esmat highlighted Egypt's commitment to support Huawei's development with improved services, updated regulations, and strategic partnerships. In addition, Esmat stressed the importance of cybersecurity and digital tools for improving the electrical sector, especially in poor and remote regions.
