What is Sweden's energy policy?

Sweden has a national energy policy target of 100 % fossil-free electricity generation by 2040. In 2 022.170 TWh of electricity was produced and the share of fossil-free was just over 98 %, see Figure 4. Electricity generation consists of: 41 % hydropower, 29 % nuclear, 19 % wind, 7 % biopower and just over 1 % solar power.

How is energy storage handled in Sweden?

However, the usage of energy storage, for example by using a battery, is not explicitly dealt with in the Swedish Electricity Act. As such, there are no explicit provisions for how energy storage is to be handled from a grid perspective.
